Biography

Graduated from the Department of Cinematography at the National Taipei University of the Arts, Lei is a director and art director who also engages in visual creation, writing and art education. Lego Lei explores the possibilities of narrative therapy with her interviewees through documentary filming. Her current works focus on relationships and collective memory, and her documentaries include “Good Day” (日安), which won the Jury Prize at the Macau Contemporary Film and Video Festival; “Cotton” (棉花), which won the Special Jury Prize at the Macau International Film Festival; “Grandpa’s Old House” (爷爷’s Old House); and “522 Slanting Sundowns” (522次斜陽) which was shortlisted for the best documentary at the Golden Spike Festival in Taiwan, and was awarded the Best Documentary Film at the Macau Contemporary Film and Video Festival.
