Publishing Children’s Books in Macau – The challenges and Learnings

‘On the Street’, a Children’s Book Release

“Children are made readers on the lap of their parents”, Emilie Buchwald, children’s author

Catarina Mesquita and Joe Tang are co-writers of “Na Rua”, a bilingual children’s book inspired by Macau’s daily life. The authors will speak about their passion on children’s literature and how this inspired the project Mandarina. Mandarina is just celebrating its one year anniversary and in this session, the founder of this local publishing house will share how this year has been and what challenges and surprises they encountered on this adventure that is to publish books for children in Macau.

“Na Rua” is a book about all of us. The authors of the book will discuss their creative process and how this book marks their story in Macau; bringing a community together around books – how Mandarina is trying to gather people together with its literary project.
