Biography
Rui Cardoso Martins (Portalegre, 1967) is a writer and a scriptwriter. He is the author of four novels such as E se eu Gostasse Muito de Morrer (Glad to Die), Deixem Passar o Homem Invisível (Let the Invisible Man Pass By) — Grande Prémio APE 2009 —, Se Fosse Fácil era Para os Outros (If it was easy it will be for others) and O Osso da Borboleta (The Bone of the Butterfly). He is also the author of the columns “Levante-se o Réu” and “Levante-se o Réu Outra Vez” — winner of Grande Prémio APE/Crónica and two Gazeta awards. He is the co-author of Contra-Informação, Herman Enciclopédia, Conversa da Treta, Filho da Treta, O Inimigo Público, screenplay writer of Zona J and of Fernando Lopes’ last film, Em Câmara Lenta. He is also the author of the play António e Maria, based on the work by writer António Lobo Antunes. Plus, he is one of the founding reporters of the newspaper Público, co-founder of Produções Fictícias and O Inimigo Público. He is also a chronicler at Antena 1 radio programme “O Fio da Meada”.
