Biography
Joaquim Franco was born in Ericeira, Portugal. He attended the Introduction to Painting course at the National Society of Fine Arts from 1976 to 1979 and completed his training by attending various workshops and taking part in other studies. As a Scientific Illustrator he has worked in the fields of Archaeology, Ethnography and Heritage Protection. In Fine Arts, he has directed several workshops and curated a number of exhibitions. He exhibited for the first time in 1976 in a solo exhibition at the Museum of Santa C.M. in Ericeira. In 1979 he participated in two exhibitions at the National Society of Fine Arts. Since then he has exhibited his works in solo and group exhibitions in places including Macau, Portugal, Holland, France, Brazil, Japan, the Philippines, Colombia and the USA. His work can be found in several private collections and institutions.
