João Miguel Barros was born in 1958, in Lisbon, Portugal. He is a professional lawyer and a passionate photographer. Recent individual exhibitions: Berardo Museum, Lisbon, (2018), Macau Contemporary Art Center (2019), and Rui Cunha Foundation, Macau (2020). He has already published three photobooks. Currently, he’s the President of the newly-created Halftone Photography Association of Macau and the publisher of Zine Photo magazine featuring his own work. He is also a freelance curator in contemporary photography. Together with Ung Vai Meng and Chan Hin Io, he will be representing Macau at the 59th Venice Biennale.
