João Céu e Silva

Biography

João Céu e Silva was born in Alpiarça in 1959 and lived in Rio de Janeiro, where he graduated in History. He has been a journalist and contributor to Diário de Notícias since 1989. In 2021, he received the Journalism Career Award from the Escritaria literary festival. That same year, he published A Long Journey with Vasco Pulido Valente, the sixth volume in a series featuring other authors: José Saramago, António Lobo Antunes, Miguel Torga, Álvaro Cunhal and Manuel Alegre.

As well as literary research, he has historical research: The General Who Started April 25 Two Months Before the Captains, Álvaro Cunhal and the Women Who Took Sides, 1961 – The Year That Changed Portugal, 1975 – The Year of the Revolutionary Hurricane, and Fátima – The Prophecy That Frightens the Vatican.
