Biography

Huang Lihai was born in the 70s in Xuwen, Guangdong. Poet and essayist, he founded the Poetry and People journal, known as the first private magazine in China in recent times. In 2005, he established the Poetry and People International Poetry Award, known as China’s Nobel Prize for Literature. Poets such as Tranström, Walcott, Zagajewski, and Anne Carson have previously won the award. Huang Lihai has won honors such as Phoenix TV’s Annual Artist Award, the 2nd Changhuai Annual Outstanding Poet Award, and Guangzhou City Image International Communication Ambassador. His most representative works include I Know Little about Life, Feed Rainbows to the Birds, Who Can Outrun Lightning and Under the Window.
