Han Dong 韓東

Biography

Han Dong, born in 1961, lives in Nanjing. He is known as a writer, poet, screenwriter, and director, with more than 40 novels, collections of stories, poems, essays and TV dramas. His latest works include the novel Love and Life (Happy and Secret), the poetry book They and the drama Aspersions. Han’s book Banished was long-listed for the 2008 Man Asian Literary Prize. His novel A Small Town Hero Strides Forth won the Novel Award at the 7th Jinling Literature Award. In 2013, Han won the 6th Zhujiang International Poetry Award. As both screenwriter and director, his film One Night on the Wharf was in competition at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival and the 1st Pingyao Film Festival.
