Beniko Tanaka

Born in 1976 in Tokyo, Beniko Tanaka arrived in Portugal in 2005 with a diploma in the art of glassmaking by TAMA (University of art in Tokyo) and a love for all the things related to light and reflections. She very quickly fell in love with the light of Lisbon and decided to stay and complete her formation in the Advanced Course of Fine Arts in Ar.Co (Art and Visual Communication Center, in Lisbon). Beniko Tanaka has held countless interventions, shows and performances of Japanese shadow puppetry in solo or in collaboration with various institutions in
Portugal, Italy and Japan.
