Biography
Ao Ieong Weng Fong, movie director & photographer. He graduated in Department and Graduate School of Visual Communication Design of NYUST . With the mainland film “Blue Amber”, he won the award – “Asian New Talent Award – Best Cinema Photography” at the 2018 Shanghai International Film Festival. The creation of the work include film production, advertising, culture and art, dance theater, fashion, and independent orchestra. Experimental Film ”The Mutation” and documentary “But Myself ” was awarded by “Jury Recommendation Award ”in the 2008 and 2013 Macau International Movies and Videos Festival. Photo album “About The Girl ‘s Coin Camera” was awarded by EPSON Color Imaging Contest 2006.
He’s also one of the directors of a feature film ” Macau stories2 – Love in the city ” , that was the first Macau production feature film, showed in cinemas across Macau and on international festivals. He also collaborated on this project as post production producer. In 2011 this movie was nominated to Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, and the same year was awarded by International meeting of Cinema, TV, video and multimedia AVANCA international award 2012. As a cinema photographer , he worked on many films “Blue Amber”, “5 to 9”, “My Only Farewell”, “Loyal”, “Illegal”, screening at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, Golden Horse Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival and screenings at the Singapore International Film Festival.
He works at Soso film studio as a director , and is also a part-time lecturer at the Department of Communication, University of Macau , teaching video production course .During his education he created numerous artworks in field of art movies and photography and was invited to direct dance video that was shown on Hong Kong Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival.
After graduation, he returned to Macau, opened his own video production studio, successfully continuing his creative expression and commercial work in field of education, dance videos, art movies, exhibitions, collaborations with artists from Beijing, Shanghai, Portugal, New York etc.
