Biography

Abdulai Silá was born in 1958, in Catió, Guinea-Bissau. He graduated in Electrotechnical Engineering from the Technical University of Dresden (Germany) and in Management of Telecommunications from the University of San Francisco, California. He co-founded both Ku Si Mon (the first private publishing house in Guinea-Bissau) and AEGUI (the Association of Guinean Writers), of which he’s currently Board Chairman. He is also the author of what is considered Guinea’s first novel, Eterna Paixão, as well as its first play, As Orações de Mansata. In 2013 the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres was bestowed on Abdulai Silá by the French government.
